All about AOE

Discuss age of empires games here. Can anyone help me get AOE2 working on 64bit windows 7, or will i have to use wine in ubuntu.

Is it crashing or won't install or what.

A:color setttings
B:computer color settings
C:color not on ur computer... (can't be displayed)

Ok with the afro. i suspect that its the fact that its for 2000 and i have 7.

Ahhhh... Unfortunately, I don't think that's fixable. Every computer I know running Windows 7 has the exact same problem (Every Windows 7 comp I know is running AoE, interestingly.).

I wanna be a mod....

That's a start. I cant have a mod that puts Afros everywhere. Getting a good reputation can take a while. Look at scratch.

I also looked up the problem, and a lot of people have it.

Heres one solution I heard of:


Go to your game folder and locate ''age2_x1''.
Right-click, Properties and choose ''Compatibility'' tab.
Then press on ''Choose settings for all users'' button.
Mark the ''Run this program in compatibility mode for:'' and choose
''Windows 98 / Windows me''
Then under settings mark ''Disable visual themes'', ''Disable desktop composition'', ''Disable display scaling on high DPI settings'' and ''Run this program as an administrator'' and click ''ok'' and again ''ok'' and you are done.
